Toshiba’s ranges of industrial and semi-industrial printers are equipped with Basic Command Interpreter (BCI). This powerful feature allows printer firmware to manipulate incoming data to generate label formats, enabling Toshiba printers to be compatible with non-Toshiba data streams.

The benefit of BCI is that no changes to existing software are required, users can change printers without worrying about re-coding or managing multiple software environments. Simply unplug the old printer and plug in a Toshiba. Printer populations can be replaced gradually, keeping costs and timescales to a minimum, providing printer users with low risk migration options.
